Who is Maa Brahmacharini? Significance of Day 2

Maa Brahmacharini, worshipped on Day 2 of Chaitra Navratri, represents an unmarried form of Goddess Parvati, also known as one of the incarnations of Adi Shakti. According to Hindu mythology, she performed intense penance to attain Lord Shiva as her husband. Maa Brahmacharini walks barefoot, holding a Jap Mala (rosary) in her right hand and a Kamandal in her left hand.

Goddess Brahmacharini governs Lord Mangal (Mars), the provider of fortune. Worshipping her grants virtues like renunciation, self-control, and a deep sense of spirituality, leading to a fulfilling life. Her blessings help devotees achieve their desires and enhance their spiritual journey.
